Pagobakoitza dolmen

This is situated in the Partzuergo of Urbia.

It's a closed long dolmen. According to the excavators in 1918, it had a tumulus 15 metres in diameter and 1.5 high. The chamber was composed of 9 slabs, forming a rectangular arrangement whose greater axis was orientated NNW-SSE.

At present there's a central crater in the tumulus in which 2 slabs from the chamber, at right angles to one another, have been preserved.

This dolmen is an example of the lamentable damage which many of these structures suffered during the 20th century.

The tumulus in the middle of the grassland is very conspicuous from many places.
