The Arenaza cave (Areatza in Basque) is located in the Basque Country and specifically in the village of S. Pedro de Galdames (Galdamiz), NW of the centre and 60 m above the valley.
View of the surrounding of the cave
The cave is seated at the base of the SW slope of the Galdames mountain massif, whose main peaks reach altitudes of a little more than 800 m. The most important are Ganeran, Eretza and Pico de la Cruz. The cave is located at around 10 km from the sea, as the crow flies. The closest points from the sea to the site are Santurce on one side and Muskiz on the other.
